Welcome to the homepage for the Epidemiology and Environmental Epigenetics lab at North Carolina State University (NCSU), lead by Dr. Cathrine Hoyo. The overarching goal of research in this laboratory is to determine the role of environmentally-induced alterations in the epigenome in the genesis of common chronic diseases, especially those that disproportionately affect minority populations, including cancer and obesity, and to use this information to improve the prediction, therapy, and prevention of diseases. Please browse this site for additional information about the lab and the researchers who are a part of it.

If you have any questions or would like additional information please contact Ms. Rachel Maguire at rlmaguir@ncsu.edu or 919-515-4085.
